Makfi wins Prix Jacques Le Marois Stakes ahead of Goldikova
by admin on 15. Aug, 2010 in Horse News, Horse Racing, Racing News
• Makfi puts St James’s Palace Stakes failure behind him • Goldikova and Paco Boy beaten into second and third Makfi claimed the prized scalps of Goldikova and Paco Boy when springing a surprise in the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville this afternoon. The 2,000 Guineas winner put a dismal display in the St James’s Palace Stakes behind him to demonstrate that his Classic win was no fluke. The Mikel Delzangles-trained colt led inside the final furlong and drew away from his field on the rain-softened ground to score comfortably from Goldikova with Paco Boy just behind in third.
